intranet migration
Big project even bigger reward.
overview
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago (FRB) intranet needed to be moved from one CMS system to another, in this case Teamsite to Sitecore. I was chosen to help improve the usability of the intranet while migrating CMS providers.
analysis
I did a heuristic evaluation of the product and from there we examined what were the opportunities that we had to improve the usability with the amount hours allocated to the project.
Additionally I talked to the Internal Communications team to help me undestand what were of the pain points they were having with the product and brainstormed on ideas in which the CMS system can help alleviate some of those gaps.
testing
After we identified what were the highest priorities for the migration we worked with our devs on sprint planning, development and testing of the new features.
news console
One of the biggest pain points we addressed was building a easy-to-use custom console that allowed the internal communications team to create, organize and publish content on to the intranet automatically, this allowed them to streamline their work and save many hours in maintenance.
content audit
In preparation for the launch of the migration, I designed and executed a content audit plan for over 7000 items and over 300 content owners.
training strategy
Additionally I designed the training strategy for new and existing content editors.
